We are delighted to welcome Steven and Jean to play the Gala concert opening our 50th anniversary season. Steven, who comes from Linlithgow, met American clarinettist Jean when she was playing with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, and they are now husband and wife.
Jean studied at the University of Massachusetts, and began her career in Singapore. She has appeared as guest Principal with the Bergen Philharmonic, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and Camarata Ireland. She performs regularly in chamber music in the UK with her husband, and is a member of the critically acclaimed trio “Metamorphoses”. She has recently released a recording of the Brahms and Rozsa Sonatas with Steven.
Steven Osborne is one of the UK’s most treasured musicians, whose insightful and idiomatic interpretations of diverse repertoire show an immense musical depth. His numerous awards include The Royal Philharmonic Society Instrumentalist of the Year (2013). He has recently released a recording of solo music by Debussy. His 26 releases have accumulated numerous awards in the UK, France, Germany and the USA.
