From Glasgow, Shubbe Kabanda started her journey as a musician as a chorister in primary school, later picking up the guitar, drum kit and cello.  Her season as a Junior at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland kickstarted her journey into higher education where she is now completing her undergraduate degree in Classical Guitar Performance with Sasha Savaloni and Allan Neave.

In February 2023, Shubbe achieved runner-up in Glasgow’s Scottish Young Musician Competition at Glasgow’s City Halls. Shubbe is a Robertson Trust Scholar and was awarded a Dewar Arts Award allowing her to purchase her classical guitar. She is also a dedicated guitar tutor gaining teaching experience through her achievement of the Gold Music Leadership Award.

Alongside her commitment as a classical guitarist, she often performs in Musical Theatre pit bands and plays, writes and sings for her neo-soul band ‘Rendezvous’.

Recent performances include, St Andrews GuitarFest, RCS’ Glasgow 850 Composer Lab, PLUG Festival and Big Guitar Weekend, as well as pit band experience (electric/acoustic guitar) with Call to Stage Theatre, Fettes College, Forth Children’s Theatre, The Bohemians Lyric Opera Company and RCS Musical Theatre.
