Ferrando and Guglielmo are deeply in love and are sure their fiancées feel the same. That is until the roguish Don Alfonso bets them he can prove that all women are fickle. He persuades each man to seduce the others wife-to-be, leading them along a path of deception and disguise. The women resist at first, but a bit of Don Alfonso’s trickery is enough to spark talk of a double wedding…
